Nebraskan native and artist Christine Belt has felt a tug at her heart since she and her family first visited Taos, New Mexico, where her grandparents built their home in the 1960's. Every summer, as a child, Chris and her family would visit. Christine now resides in Nebraska City, frequently visits New Mexico, and connects two beautiful regions creatively in her art.
Belt's art portrays life simplified yet with a contemporary twist. The intent of her art is not to be used as an escape, but is meant to be a reminder of that which is beautiful every day in our lives.
It is Belt's dream that her artwork evokes memories which are pure and of goodness. She also hopes those memories will come alive again in one's heart and spirit for the present and future.
